Werea S.r.l. is a start-up of Italian origin that created the collaborative platform AerariumChain (AEC). The AerariumChain (AEC) project was set up to generate new value for museums, institutions and all custodians of works of art, contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage and improving the museum experience through the generation of NFTs (Not-Fungible Tokens). Indeed, the aim of AerariumChain NFTs is to raise funds for the restoration, preservation, and maintenance of museum assets. Through the integration of professional 3D scans, Blockchain and AI, AEC aims to generate new value for museums, eco-museums, institutions, and individuals by offering technological solutions for the digitization, preservation, and monitoring of artworks, in order to make them more accessible. This proposal is at once both cutting-edge and inclusive, and aims to innovate the traditional models of access to artistic heritage through making works of arts accessible even to people with visual- or mobility impairments etc. The platform also enables mitigation of the socio-economic effects that the restrictions imposed by the pandemic have had on the museum sector, with resulting repercussions on revenues and employment levels.
Thanks to this project, Werea S.rl. attracted the interest of Borderless Capital and Fondazione Social Venture Giordano Dell’Amore – the strategic and operational arm of Fondazione Cariplo in the field of impact investing – that have respectively invested in equity €70,000 and €252,000, for a total capital increase of €322,000 on a pre-money valuation of €3,000,000.
