Fondazione Social Venture Giordano Dell’Amore

Auxilium

Auxilium is a social cooperative founded in 2019 and active in the Como area with headquarters in Tremezzina (CO). It is involved in the management of various activities – social agriculture, greenery maintenance and posting services – aimed at the employment of vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals (immigrants, individuals with disabilities, mental disorders or admitted to alternative measures to detention). The Cooperative also operates in the cultural field, collaborating with public bodies, associations and professionals in the sector to promote summer camps and educational workshops in schools.

Auxilium is now supported by Fondazione Social Venture Giordano Dell’Amore (or “FSVGDA”), which invested in the initiative as part of “Impact4Coop”, the program born from the synergy between FSVGDA and Fondazione Cariplo implements 2,2MLN/€ to contribute to the capital strengthening and recovery of the cooperative sector, hard hit by the socio-economic effects generated by the pandemic.

Specifically, the investment operation was carried out, in a matching logic, following Auxilium’s candidacy for the “Target 1” of the program (no longer active), aimed exclusively at Social Cooperatives that generate an impact in the reference territories of Fondazione Cariplo (Lombardy, provinces of Novara and Verbano Cusio Ossola) and who have resolved after 01/07/2021 and by 12/04/2022 a capital increase of an amount not exceeding €50,000.

Impact

Auxilium promotes the fight against poverty and inequalities, promoting decent working conditions, supporting local communities and encouraging the sustainable development of territories. The Cooperative is operational on the following lines of intervention: social agriculture, undertaken in partnership with local authorities, which includes territorial regeneration and horticultural activities; green maintenance, a service that includes the ordinary and extraordinary management of public and private green areas, carried out mainly by people involved in work reintegration programs who operate under the coordination of an agronomist manager; poster and billboard posting service, an activity carried out with the involvement of both vulnerable people and volunteers; cultural services, such as the organization of summer camps for children and educational workshops aimed at schools. The summer camps, based on manual activities, games and readings, aim to offer educational moments outside of school and family contexts and to represent authentic opportunities for socialization.
