Koinè Assemblaggi di Valore is a Social Cooperative founded 31 years ago with the aim of giving an opportunity to people suffering from physical and mental disabilities and allowing them social redemption through work. The cooperative deals with mechanical, electromechanical, electromedical assemblies, co-engineering and start-up support. There are currently 50 employees and 33 interns. 65% of the people who work in Koiné have fragilities and an individualized path is prepared for each one by a team made up of social workers, the cooperative’s educator and the general manager. Over the course of 10 years, from 2012 to 2022, 40 people were relocated to local companies after their experience at Koinè.
Koinè is now supported by Fondazione Social Venture Giordano Dell’Amore (or “FSVGDA”), which has invested €100,000 as part of “Impact4Coop”, the FSVGDA and Fondazione Cariplo program which provides 2.2M/€ to contribute to the capital strengthening and development of the cooperative sector.
The investment was made with the aim of supporting the growth and achievement of the social impact objectives of the Cooperative which is committed to offering employment opportunities aimed at vulnerable individuals and which represents a driving force for inclusive economic development for the benefit of communities local and regional.
The capital increase was also achieved with the use of the “Impact Grant”, an innovative financial instrument which allows part of the investment to be transformed into a non-repayable contribution, in the hypothesis of achieving pre-agreed social impact objectives.
