mOOve

mOOve is the brainchild of 4 start-uppers from Milan. Its goal is to innovate the production chain of cycle paths in the wake of the circular economy, through the proposal of environmentally sustainable, modular and easy-to-install circuits, that are produced in the factory from recycled plastics. mOOve tracks are very flexible as they are positioned on top of existing foundations and remain separate and raised above the ground. Equipped with sensors and integrated technology, they safeguard and enable different business models and new ways of using lightweight infrastructures.

In 2019, mOOve participated in the Call For Impact of Get it! on Smart Cities and Mobility Action, Food and Environment. After achieving an acceleration and mentorship path, mOOve was among the first Get it! Start-ups to benefit from the investment of Fondazione Social Venture Giordano Dell’Amore, the strategic and operational arm of the Cariplo Foundation in the context of impact investing and promoter of the program, in partnership with Cariplo Factory.

Impact

The structure of the cycle paths designed by mOOve involves the use of standard prefabricated and removable modules: this aspect significantly reduces installation time and allows the system to be removed and repositioned elsewhere, at any time. mOOve is, in fact, designed to be easily installed on top of the existing substrate (asphalted roads, fields, tracks, etc.) without the need for excavation – which is a feature that can facilitate the development of sustainable cycle tourism even in rural areas and the development of Greenways. The paths are created through the use of recycled polymers from the most common categories of plastic (eg oceanic islands of plastic, plastic bottles, etc.). The modules can therefore be recycled again at the end of their life. This represents a continuous support for the circular economy that enables a reduction in CO2 emissions that are generated by current urban mobility, thanks to the increase in micro-mobility. In addition, the circuits are equipped with sensors, integrated LED lighting that is adaptive and electronic, connectivity and active lane markings. These elements enable innovative features such as predictive maintenance, interface with mobile devices and the collection, analysis and distribution of data and information.
